National News: For the last two days, the torrential rains have been disturbing the hilly districts. The water level of river drains is rising from place to place, and debris and stones falling on the roads are continuously coming to the fore. In many sensitive places, mountains have started cracking, causing the risk of landslides to deepen. The administration has made a strict appeal to the people not to travel unnecessarily and to stay in safe places.

Administration on alert mode

The Meteorological Department has already issued a red alert for heavy rainfall for the district. According to this, the weather is likely to be extremely bad for the next 24 to 48 hours. The administration has also put disaster management teams on alert mode. Teams of Police and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been deployed in the mountainous areas to do quick relief and rescue operations in an emergency.

Sensitive areas become dangerous

Due to continuous rains, the rocks and soils of the mountains have become loose. Hanumangarhi, Naina villages and common stop areas are the most affected on Haldwani road. At the same time, the old mountain in Kaladhungi Road, the broken mountain in Bhawali Road and the area near Pines have been declared extremely sensitive. Large boulders and heavy debris may fall on the road at any time in these areas, which blocks the route and also increases the risk of accidents.

Accident at a common stop, passengers narrowly escape

A major accident was averted in the common stop area on Tuesday. A heavy boulder suddenly fell on a taxi vehicle. It is a matter of honor that both passengers sitting inside the vehicle came out safely. However, the vehicle suffered heavy damage. This incident has deepened an atmosphere of fear among passengers and local people.

Difficulties of passengers and local people

Many routes have been disrupted due to heavy rains and frequent landslides. The supply of essential commodities in rural areas is being affected. The supply of items like milk, vegetables and food grains is arriving late. Local residents say that the education of children is also being affected due to rain, as the way to school is closed. At the same time, tourists going towards tourist places also have to return from the middle way.

Strict instruction of administration

ADM Vivek Roy has clearly stated that "in such weather unnecessarily traveling to the mountains is to risk your life." He appealed to the people not to take the alert of the Meteorological Department seriously and not to go on a journey until it is extremely necessary. The administration has increased the deployment of police force around sensitive areas and local panchayats have also been asked to be vigilant.

Further circumstances and preparations

Experts believe that continuous rains weaken the surface structure of the mountains. At this time, a slight vibration on the hill paths can also cause major landslides. The administration has kept medical teams and rescue vehicles ready to deal with the emergency. Also, JCB and other machinery have been installed to clean the affected routes.
